<p>Perry, que actúa en un par de festivales españoles este verano, <a href="https://jenesaispop.com/2025/10/14/509218/katy-perry-rio-babel/">Río Babel</a> y <a href="https://jenesaispop.com/2025/10/14/509226/katy-perry-osoncamino/">O Son do Camiño</a>, ha dejado escuchar un pequeño avance de ‘Watch It Burn’ durante una entrevista con el productor Justin Tranter, en la que suena de fondo. El sonido pop-rock remite claramente al de su debut, ‘One of the Boys’, en concreto a su éxito de 2008 ‘Hot N Cold’, y al de contemporáneas como Kelly Clarkson.</p>
<p>En esta misma entrevista, Perry -a quien acaba de verse <a href="https://globalnews.ca/video/11896613/katy-perry-and-justin-trudeau-make-their-red-carpet-debut-at-tribeca-film-festival">posando en una alfombra roja</a> con su pareja, el ex-ministro de Canadá Justin Trudeau, por primera vez- ha hablado sobre el significado de ‘Watch It Burn’ para reivindicar su derecho a expresar su enfado por cosas que lo merecen. Se refiere en concreto a su duro último año, en el que encadenó críticas y odio continuado por su viaje al espacio y el lanzamiento de su denostado disco ‘<a href="https://jenesaispop.com/2024/09/24/482968/katy-perry-143/">143</a>‘ -que en este site gustó algo más-, creado en colaboración con el aún más denostado productor Dr. Luke.</p>
<p>«En ‘Watch It Burn’ estoy lidiando con mi oscuridad», afirma Perry en la entrevista. «El año pasado fue bastante duro». Después, amplía la reflexión a su vida en general: «Durante toda mi vida, no me he dado permiso para estar realmente enfadada por cosas por las que, joder, debería haber estado enfadada. Lo que hice fue reprimirlo. Tengo derecho a estar enfadada durante un maldito momento. En lugar de caer en el «pobrecita de mí», era como: este puto dolor… voy a sentir este dolor, voy a sentir esta rabia y seguir adelante».</p>
<p>En un claro intento por corregir su estrategia, ‘Bandaids’ no contaba con la participación de Dr. Luke y parece que ‘Watch It Burn’ tampoco será una excepción. Su fecha de lanzamiento no se ha confirmado, pero parece que no pasará de este mes de junio. La entrevista de Perry con Tranter se podrá ver al completo a partir de este miércoles 17 de junio.</p>
